- What the author offered was an *additional* string rather than the
- complete modem string.

- If you are using Win95 I suggest you -

- Run REGEDIT, the win95 registry editor, and look for
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\Modem\0000
- The 0000 refers to your lst modem, 0001 your 2nd ....
- Look for the reset init string which will probably say ATZ or ATZ4
- and *carefully* edit this string to what you want. It's a good idea to
- backup the registry before initiating this process because errors here
- can really clobber Win95. I hope this helps. Good luck.
